An Eclectic Victorian Villa
A cross between the most exclusive boutique hotel and The Natural History Museum, this home was beyond exciting to visit. How do some people manage to create such secret, hideaway homes that literally transport you to another world? Behind closed doors, you are immersed in a wonderland of fantasy and eclectic opulence at every turn.
Seeing our Classic furniture here in this kitchen was such a thrill, the way the cupboards embraced both function, beauty, and eccentricity so well. We particularly loved the fitted back run with so much storage and display space, turning the corner into a neat and practical sink run. Our Cream Subway Tiles added a little gloss and simplicity, and the honed black granite worktops were a lovely change from the light translucent Carrara marble on the petite Dairy Table.
Skipping through the foliage to the conservatory, we see palms, birds and floral fabrics, but in pride of place, our woven top café chairs, looking very Parisian and chic.
Down into the basement we find an ‘under the stairs’ set up, practical floor-to-ceiling cupboards and peg rails in a small corridor that leads to a utility room and back door entrance to the house. Earthy reds and dark muddy greens make our classic cupboards feel as if they have been there since Victorian times.
Then up the winding stairs to a bathroom in the eaves, filled with sunlight and warmth. A bespoke double vanity unit, all curvy, glamorous and draped in Carrara marble. This bathroom showcases more of our creamware tiles and borders, showing just how versatile they are. Behind this gorgeous copper bath, they are supremely practical and creatively laid to give us all lots of interesting and inspiring ideas for our own homes.
deVOL classic cupboards from the basement to the top floor, along with many of our accessories and interior fittings, this home could easily be one of our very best showrooms – if only!!!!!
