A Haberdasher's Hideaway In Skåne, Sweden

Fishing boats in the harbour, white sandy beaches, legendary apple blossoms and more than their fair share of farmers' markets and culture. This tiny fishing village in Skåne County is where you will find the latest home renovation from our dear friends Laura and Nora of ‘Our Food Stories’. You will see their delightful Shaker kitchen near Berlin on our Shaker projects page. These two ladies are the absolute experts at finding incredible houses in special locations and renovating them with sympathy, love and style.

This home is literally brimming with original features, some were already there waiting to be loved again, some were sourced especially, you simply cannot tell which is which, a true testament to their impeccable taste and careful choices.

The kitchen is the centre of this airy Scandinavian home, ubiquitous whitewashed floorboards and ceilings, an eclectic mix of vintage and mid-century furniture all brought together with our Haberdasher's cupboards. The immaculate cupboards are slender and elegant but have a nostalgic feel that ensures they fit perfectly into a vintage home without feeling too new or contrived. The slim glazed panels on the island, drawers and wall cupboard give light, reflection and beautiful vignettes. The aged copper worktops shimmer with the reflections of the unique and very handsome woodburning stove which gives this room the most incredible warm atmosphere.

The marble sink and the palest of pink marble worktops add some luxury and take this rustic home to another level, comfortable, beautifully warm and inviting but also quite glamorous and chic.

This new range of cupboards by deVOL is constantly surprising us with its ability to sit happily in so many properties and styles of homes. A dark moody townhouse, an edgy apartment or a light Scandi home, who would have believed it could be this special.

And finally, take a look at that Aga, it's simply fabulous with its quirky old fittings, just imagine a snowy weekend here, logs on the fire, sourdough in the oven and some tasty glögg keeping warm on the back of the Aga, simple perfection.

Laura and Nora have been so kind to share these fantastic photos of their beautiful kitchen and impeccable styling with us.
