Sometimes there’s no getting away from the need to have a classic item in your repertoire. The Creamware Rise & Fall Light by deVOL is one of those lights that we just couldn’t resist making for ourselves and offering to our customers.

The same glossy creamware shade as our Task Light, this pendant has a beautiful ceramic counterweight and a dark brown cotton flex. It rises and falls with such ease on a lovely brass pulley, enabling you to create a mood with just a gentle movement. There is something quite romantic about pulling the light down low in the evenings and creating a small and intimate pool of light over your dining table.

The Rise & Fall Light is a statement, but it's also quite understated and would suit any style of home, contemporary or period. Lighting is really important to us here at deVOL, we like to create atmosphere but not too much wow and we feel this pendant light has got it just right.

Each light is made by hand in our ceramics studio using smooth white earthenware clay and is finished with a glossy cream glaze.
 

This light includes:

  • a creamware ceramic shade
  • a creamware ceramic counterweight
  • an antiqued brass E26 lampholder and cuff
  • a matching brass pulley system and ceiling rose
  • a mounting plate to fit a 4" octagonal junction box
  • 10 feet of brown twisted flex cord
     

Bulb not included - 60W recommended.

Care & Maintenance

The balance of the shade and counterweight may be affected by the amount of cable used when installing the light. This can easily be adjusted by adding or removing filling in the counterweight.
 

If your shade is falling:

- Remove the cork stopper from the counterweight.

- Gradually add more filling into the counterweight.

- Check the weight and, once balanced, put the cork stopper back in the hole. 
 

If your shade is rising:

- Remove the cork stopper from the counterweight.

- Gradually tip some of the counterweight filling out.

- Check the weight and, once balanced, put the cork stopper back in the hole.
 

Metal finishes should only be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. Harsh cleaners and abrasive pads will damage and remove the finish. Always switch off the mains power before cleaning the fittings.

Always remove the shade before cleaning - taking care not to lose the shade ring or brass cuff. The shade can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a lint free cloth. Abrasive pads could scratch and damage the surface.

Sustainability

Our lights are all handcrafted and assembled in the UK. We make every effort to source our materials and components from local suppliers in the UK.

Almost all of our packaging is recyclable and our designers are constantly working with suppliers to make improvements in this area.

Please recycle your packaging in accordance with local regulations.

You can view a full delivery quote for your basket and shipping address in the checkout. All charges shown include any applicable tax and duty. State tax is calculated in the checkout.

We offer one tracked service from DHL, all items are sent from our UK workshops. Orders will be dispatched only when all items are ready and they should arrive within 2-4 business days. If you wish to receive individual items as soon as they are ready, please consider placing them as separate orders.

Returns

This item is eligible for return within 28 days of delivery.

Any items returned to us in the condition in which they were sent will be refunded in full, excluding any delivery fees and a 10% restocking fee.

We are unable to cover any return postage costs, or any loss or breakages that occur during the return process. We therefore recommend that returns are made using the original packaging with a tracked, insured and signed for service.
