Ditsy Delft Tiles - Sample Pack

The patterns were originally hand-painted by the designers in our product design studio. First offered as rolls of wallpaper, we've now carefully altered the design to turn them into beautiful individual tiles. Extruded from a durable stoneware clay and individually cut out using a 'cookie cutter' and a mallet, the tiles are then bisque-fired and dipped in one of our three cream glazes, ranging from soft white to almost clear. Next, they're glaze-fired and some put aside, creating the 'Plain' tiles. The others then have the 'Ditsy' or 'Delft' designs in Sepia or Blue applied to them before being fired again, allowing the glazing to melt so that the brushstrokes from the original artwork become suspended within the glaze itself, rather than sitting on the surface, meaning they cannot be scrubbed or scratched off.
